Corrie Bond

While searching for some inspiration for future photo shoots, I discovered fashion photographer, Corrie Bond. This UK-based photographer is widely known for her work for Marie Claire, In-Style and New York Times. Her work has an admirable feminine quality, and consistently conveys timeless beauty. Bond strategically manipulates natural light and dewy shadows to delicately graze her subject matter. Through her compositions and editing style, Bond’s photographs whisper a soft, vintage feeling. Her editorials are light, breathtaking and a visual treat. Take a peak at her stunning work below and visit her website to see more work.

Anne Sofie Madsen

Anne Sofie Madsen has been coming to existence in the Fashion world just within these last couple years, and it is very clear she has an eminent statement to make. After attending the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Design, and getting training from the renowned John Galliano  and Alexander McQueen, this young designer is well equipped with the tools to take the fashion world by storm. Her rugged, warrior-esque, yet polished aesthetic is already quite apparent in her two collections. Playing with combinations of texture and seaming details, Anne Sofie Madsen creates noteable pieces for a fighter, a strong, confident woman. Check out our favorites from her two look books, and see more of her creative perspective by looking through her website.

Colors of Fall 2012

We can’t believe that it’s already the third day of August. The time is flying. But as we all finally start to accept that summer is winding down and coming to an end, why not have a pick-me-up of updating your closet for the next best season, fall. Fall fashion is always fun to shop and dress for. The beginning is still warm enough to pull off your favorite summer getups and then cools down to layer up, and throw on your trusty hand-knit infinity scarf. Color is the essential “flavor” for fall, wether it be the changing leaves, pumpkin flavored snacks, or most importantly, personal attire. Here we have the upcoming pantone colors for fall 2012 to make sure you’re purchasing on-trend treasures. The colors of  fall will feel familiar as they are warm and saturated, with a similar taste of summer. Perhaps this will make fall an easier transition for us, our closets and our budgets. We picked out some of our favorite pieces within the fall 2012’s color scheme for some style inspiration and we are looking forward to sharing them with you all.

Gustav Reyes

Wooden jewelry has been an ongoing accessory trend for years, and doesn’t appear to be dying down anytime soon. So why not purchase a piece that is modern, sleek, and beautifully crafted by hand? Gustav Reyes, trained in fine craft woodworking provides all that and more. He creates jewelry that serve as engaging works of art rather than just another trendy accessory. Reyes takes a philosophical approach to his act of creation, and using cycles of life as inspiration. His work is made from salvaged repurposed wood in order to preserve nature’s beauty, resulting in a variety of rich woods. Head on over to his website here to pick out a updated, sculptural piece, and leave the basic wooden bangle at home.

Bless & Longchamp

Nothing can beat a collaboration that breeds innovative, distinguished design. BLESS and Longchamp teamed up to create the ultimate handbag. This limited edition french production is the perfect staple to a sleek, modern wardrobe, that has classical roots.  Combining the rich cognac leather with the neutral linen makes this one of the most versatile accessories.  That’s not all when it comes to versatility, this bag folds into itself, making a transformation that can be worn in two separate ways. Cheers for great design and fashion Friday!

Paper Papier

We are all about artistic collaborations here on Florence & Millie. The recent editorial shoot between paper artist, Fideli Sundqvist, photographer, Maria Wretblad for Papier Mache, and stylist Saša Antic has really “wowed” us. You can never go wrong when combining lovely kids, great clothing, and enchanting artwork all topped off with splendid photography. Classical cuts for the kids play well with the overly exaggerated paper pieces to create a witty and lighthearted mood for the shoot. We are dying and falling in love all at once, but enough talk here are the photos!
